Accept Victory as a Reward, Failure as a Feedback

Winning and losing are two sides of the same coin which when tossed has the probability of getting the either. It is ones perspective and attitude how he celebrates with success and how he deals with the failures and the setbacks. Looking into the general human nature, a victory instills a deep sense of euphoria while a failure leads to disappointment and sadness. Success should not be such that makes you lazy and over confident and failure should be a cause of prolonged disappointment. Both are worse. Success should create better avenues and inspire you to reach better heights and step ahead for further goals. Failure should energize you to recover and perform the best again. Such an attitude ultimately defeats the ‘defeat’.

Efforts and achievements are not static neither have any limits. Success should be such that it boosts you for further success in more fields. Moreover, when you encounter a failure, accept it as a positive feedback. Try to analyze the whole phase of the work you did and infer out where you lacked. Failure should not result in exasperation. Anger does nothing but hampers you and your thoughts. So better have a positive approach even during bad phases. So, let the failure become your strength not a setback. Learn to fight it not to regret and stay on it.

By Silence You Conceal Your Imperfections and Come to Know Others

Nature is one of the finest and perfect architects in the universe. Each and every thing of its creation fits in place, built for a particular purpose and has a reason behind it
.
Have you ever given a thought to the symmetry of our body that God gave us?

We have a pair of ears, a pair of eyes, a pair of hands but a single mouth. Why?

By this the almighty wants that what we hear, what we see, what we perform should be twice what we speak. Your talks should be half times your actions that are why there is a single tongue and two hands. The basic idea here is, action reflects the potential more than words. Listen to everybody, watch out many things but extract the best out of it that is required for you. Do not just waste the time in futile gossips and boasting about one or the other thing. It is ones efforts that provide the results not the advertisements. One can mould the way of speech by words but cannot ease the way of success unless action is done. Speak wherever it is relevant.

It has been rightly said by Bernard Shaw, “By silence I conceal my imperfections and come to know others.” Great men have always been silent in their views and great at their work. That was the real secret behind their success as they believed more in doing than in advertising their skills. Work always speaks your success but words only are not sufficient to work for success. By silence you are able to introspect yourself and find out your shortcomings without giving a hint to others. It makes you to understand the mistakes and rectify them. Your accomplishments speaks your success not your words. Use the words where necessary else let your hands show your potential.

Winner Vs Loser

1.A winner finds opportunity in everything. A loser finds excuses in everything.

2.A winner commits a mistake and accepts it saying: ‘I was wrong’. A loser says: ‘It was not my fault.’

3.A winner credits his good luck for winning even though it wasn’t luck and was because of immense hard work. A loser credits his bad luck for losing, but it wasn’t luck.

4.A winner goes through the problem. A loser goes around the problem.

5.A winner says he is sorry by making up for it. A loser says he is sorry but he does the same thing next time.

6.A winner respects those who are superior to him and tries to learn from them. A loser resents those who are superior to him and tries to find the fault.

7.A winner says: ‘There ought to be a better way of doing it.’ A loser says: ‘Why change it? That’s the way it is always been done.’

8.A winner is responsible for more than his job. A loser says: ‘I only work here.’

Inculcate the features, characteristics and the type of attitude marked in bold. This will surely make you a winner in every aspect of life.

To be Wise, Think and Study. To be Successful Execute.

Setting and defining the goals are the initial steps towards the journey of success. A wise man properly plans them and gives them a systematic shape. But in order to ultimately make the plan successful one must put hands into it. Action to your plans is indispensable for reaching the targeted destination. Dreams come true only when they are emulsified with action and execution of proper plans. Sitting idle and waiting for the things to happen on their own is just a moor's thought.A target cannot be achieved by mere advertisements and conversations but what is actually required are the actions garnished with mighty determination and will power.

Action fills the gap between the goal defined and the achievement of the goal. It acts as the vehicle that takes you to your ultimate destination. Implementation of the right action at right time with sincere attitude makes your attempt a fruitful one and increments your step a little closer to success. Whatever you do, it should be a calculative step keeping in mind the possible consequences. Think, analyze and then act. It is better to work less than to take blind shots. Success is not a shortcut.

Try to Fail, But Never Fail to Try

Thomas Alva Edison one of the famous inventors ever. While working on his remarkable invention that is electric bulb failed ten thousand times before he could actually succeed in accomplishing his task fully. He might have given up and stopped trying because of these innumerable failures, but his perseverance was strong enough that kept him going and going. He did not call these ten thousand failures as his failures instead he called that he had found ten thousand different ways that could not work. The moral here we get is:

try---fail----try again----if again failed----try again----at last success is yours

One should never fail to try. Bounce back from your failures, gather together all your energy and set to work as if you are more energised. Keep that flame of never dying spirit burning inside that trying and trying doesn't make you restless but makes your nerves strong enough to achieve the target. It has been rightly said that, "The success is not in never falling but rising every time we fall." No defeats do not define success completely unless one has the grit to rise up from the defeat and try again and strive for success.

Let me cite a list of defeats of a famous personality:

  • Failed in business at the age of 22
  • Ran for legislature-defeated at the age of 23
  • Again failed in business at the age of 24
  • Sweetheart died at the age of 26
  • Had a nervous breakdown at the age of 27
  • Defeated for Speaker at the age of 29
  • Defeated for Elector at the age o 31
  • Defeated for Congress at the age of 34
  • Defeated for Senate at the age of 46
  • Defeated for Vice-President at the age of 47
  • Defeated for Senate at the age of 49

That is a list of defeats suffered by Abraham Lincoln, who is known for his fair character and leadership in our history. These are defeats not failures as Lincoln kept on trying. One can judge from every defeat that he was ready to give yet another attempt. he did not lay arms in from of any defeat how small or how big it was. He tried and tried and at last:
  • He was elected as the President of United States at the age of 51

Success Steps

1. Set a Goal :

The primary requisite before starting your journey towards success is that one must be very clear about the goal. An image of the target to achieve should have a strong impression in the person's mind. Interest, curiosity, enthusiasm must be associated with it. This will set the goal for you. Once the goal is clear, the further journey becomes systematic and smooth. For example, everybody has an aim in life. Just naming unique, big and different professions without actual meaning and interest is not really what you are aiming for. One must be able to associate himself with the goal.

2. Define the Goal:

After the goal is set, it is the time to define in terms of achieving it. A goal may be defined keeping in view the following questions:
  • What resources are indispensable for goal accomplishment?
  • How to filter the relevant from the irrelevant?
  • What kind systematic plan and time table to follow?
  • What are the possible impediments that will encounter in midst of it?
  • How to recover from setback and failures?
Answer to all these questions equips one with confidence and one initiates with the threshold energy and vigour.

3. Define Deadline Time:

Once the goal is set and define, the next necessity is to set a proposed deadline time for the accomplishment of your goal. Now what is the need of doing that? The answer is very simple, it makes your efforts according to the time limit left with you. Indefinite time to achieve something makes one lazy and lethargic. However, if the time is defined, person strives hard and puts in all efforts to accomplish the task in that interval. For example, during exam days we have lot of syllabus to cover and retain. Our energy reaches such a pinnacle that we are able to learn hundreds of pages in a single night. This is so because the very nest day we have our exam, the time is definite, so our energy and potential reaches its peak.

4. Cut and Paste:

Whatever you are dreaming for, whatever is your goal just write it down on a big chart and paste it on the wall of your room where you can read it maximum times. If you have an elegant photograph, paste it also. This poster will always remind you about your goal and instill extra energy to achieve it. Suppose you want a big house, paste a big poster of beautiful house in your room. It will give you energy to strive and work for it.

5. Self Talk:

This is a very good practice that focuses one entirely towards the goal and increases the confidence level. Whenever you are free and alone, meditate and say to God:
  • I have achieved my goal.
  • I have passed all the hurdles easily.
  • God you are with me.
  • I am happy.
  • I am doing good at my work.
  • Everything around me is good and beautiful.
Fumes of positiveness start emanating from everywhere . It will seem as if nature is listening to what you are asking for.

Quitters Reach Nowhere

'Quit' word does not exist in the dictionary of those who aim to succeed. The secret of all successful people in life is that they decide to continue when other decided to quit. You might not know how near you might be to the success when you quit and regret later. Quitting neither takes you to the required goal and at the same time waters away the effort done till then. So, it has been rightly said that quitters reach nowhere. The only difference between the losers and winners is in the length of their journey. The point where the the losers quit, winners continue at that point.

Once a looser asked a winner, "How do you win all the times?"
Winner said,"I win because I never quit."

Right attitude is important in dealing with challenges effectively. In fact, attitude alone defines how much a setback is going to set you back. Passion and belief in oneself, and in ones efforts is very important to stay focused and committed. Filling the mind with the right thoughts is very important to stay focused, and carry the right attitude. Don't get discouraged by challenges. They are part of the living process. As Swami Vivekananda said, "In a day, when you don't come across any problems you can be sure that you are traveling in a wrong path."

In nutshell, hindrances and obstacles are part and parcel of life. They should not weaken one's grit and tempt to quit. Instead one must find fuel in failure to continue the journey of success with greater enthusiasm. One should learn from the mistakes and try to improve them at every single step.

Learn to Manage Your Seconds, Your Hours Will be Managed Itself.

Management of time is an essential part of moving towards the goal. Time is an indispensable source. How you use it determines the length of the path to achieve your goal. A proper daily schedule, systematic time table of work results in the successful utilization of time. Being spendthrift in terms of your time over useless and irrelevant things often takes your eye off the goal. Try to manage every single second of life, and don’t worry about your hours, days and years, they will be automatically managed.

‘Wasting time means wasting the only resource that you cannot restore.’ Time is not stalked and captured. It is planned, then grasped and used with all available energy and talent. Everyone has the same amount. Whether rich or poor, old or young, man or woman, or children, we all have twenty-four hours. It is our thoughts, our determination, and our enthusiasm towards our goal that makes us to manage it in a proper way with proper work to achieve it.

There are some famous lines expressing the importance of a minute:

Just a Minute

Life is just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it,
Didn’t seek, didn’t choose it,
But it is up to me to use it.
I must suffer if I lose it,
Give account if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute,
But eternity is in it. By: Anonymous

Thus every single minute can delay or hasten your journey towards success. What all matters are how you utilize the time allotted to you?

No Shortcuts to Success

There are no easy methods neither any shortcuts to success. If such steps are there, then surely that success is a complete hollow from inside.

Many times we come across posters and advertisements like:

'Learn Fluent English in Just 30 Days'

'10th Failed, Do Direct 12th'

Yes, such institutions might provide you with a degree or other fake credentials, but when you inner soul speaks from inside, are you able to do justice with it. The answer is a compete 'No'. Thus an easy success can be considered as failure in disguise. Success is not a thing to be looked and snatched, but a thing to be worked for.

There have been lot of examples, who started from nowhere, but presently are at the culmination in their particular fields whether it be Dhirubhai Ambani or Shahrukh Khan. We should not consider just the two aspects but the journey done in between to achieve the success is more important. A detailed study of autobiographies of various renowned people will acquaint you with the fact that their was no shortcut to success. In fact it was a ladder of hurdles to reach the top.

So just not get fascinated by the lures of celebrities, businessmen and other celebrities and employ shortcuts to success. Instead set a goal, and tey to achieve it step by step.

Definition of Success

1. S: Sincerity

Success comes to those who sincerely devote themselves towards it. Sincerity comes when your goal is really what your desire. Try to find happiness, interest, curiosity in everything you do. 2. U: Undeterred by Pessimists

This could only be possible, if your clear with what you are doing. Accept praise as a compliment and criticism as a positive feedback. Negative thoughts, negative people should not hinder your path neither lower your grit towards achieving goal. Stand like a rock, undeterred by winds, and follow your path, surely success will be there.

3. C: Confidence

It is an ingredient that keeps you going and realizing you every time that you possess that potential and caliber. Confidence has different forms. When it is in very less quantity, it is called weak grit. When it exceeds limits, it is called over confidence. None of the two is good. Have a attitude, ‘I can do it’ not ‘Only I can do it.’

4. C: Courage

Courage acts as an armour that always keeps the fire burning inside to accomplish the success. It fills you with that vigour and energy that nothing seems impossible. Obstacles and hurdles look nothing when the courage inside is at pinnacle.

Such a thought will inculcate a deep sense of dedication and hard work at the time of practice and consequently provide you tremendous confidence at the time of performance.

6. S: Setbacks and Failures

Setbacks and failures are part and parcel of life. It is their existence which makes success so tempting and fruitful. Setbacks are to be recovered and failures are to be fought. Laying down arms in front of them is just ending up with your potential. Most people do not know, how close they were to success when they stopped striving for it. So, try to find fuel in failure that will accelerate your journey towards success.

7. S: See What You Want

Often what we get in our present is the result of what we have thought in our past. So try to visualize all those positive things that you want. Imagine you have achieved success not you will achieve success. Such an imagination will instill positive thoughts and extra energy towards your goal. The biggest secret of success and happiness is in its prior visualization.
